Pharma is poised to spend less on TV DTC and more on Internet marketing. New DTC guidelines, after all, specifically EXCLUDE the Internet and major players such as Pfizer say they will focus more on the Internet and less on TV.

In an Ad Age story ("Marketers Wrestle with Hard-to-Control" Web Content") doubt is cast upon the wisdom of advertising on blogs because such consumer-controlled Internet venues "cannot be controlled." The corollary, of course, is that non-consumer-controlled venues CAN be controlled!
