FDA Drug Watch Site Guidelines

As reported in today's Wall Street Journal ("FDA Issues Guidelines For 'Drug Watch' Site, Details on Oversight Board") , the FDA issued a Gudiance (i.e., draft guidelines) last Friday on a "Drug Watch" web site for "Emerging Drug Safety Information."

How about this idea:

Re-purpose The Homeland Security Advisory System color scale for use with drugs listed in the Drug Watch site and prohibit the use of DTC while a drug is the "high alert" red zone.

Wouldn't this make it easier for consumers to get an idea of the level of risk? Works for me - which is more than I can say for Homeland Security!
