At the recent Healthcare Blogging Summit, an audience member asked if and when DDMAC is likely to regulate pharmaceutical promotion via blogs. Or, something to that effect.
Since I was on the panel to which this question was directed, I took a stab at answering it.
"The image that comes to my mind," I said, "is an ostrich with its head in a hole in the ground."
Another audience member agreed, but said he had a different hole in mind.
In today's post to Pharma Maketing Blog, I look at some data from a recent GAO report regarding promotional materials submitted to the FDA and the response time for issuing warning letters. These data support my view that DDMAC indeed has its head somewhere, but not on the Internet!
