Pharma Industry "Less Unpopular"

Posted: May 9, 2006
According to the most recent Harris Interactive poll the "Reputation of Pharmaceutical Companies, While Still Poor, Improves Sharply for Second Year in a Row."

The recovery is no fluke, but what could possibly be the cause of this reversal of fortune? Harris may be an excellent pollster, but its analysis of the causes of the reversal is shallow and weak (based on what I read in the press release). I, on the other hand, draw upon my vast knowledge of the pharma industry's recent hsitory to offer a more in-depth analysis of the causes. You might be surprised at what I think is a major factor in the sinking and subsequent recovery of pharma's public image.

Includes a nice chart showing Harris survey data trend from 1998 through 2006.
