Peter Pitts, former spinmeister -- er... I mean Associate Commissioner for External Relations -- for the FDA, has dissed my favorite Chinese takeout dish and the recently release GAO report critical of FDA's ability to protect the public from unsafe drugs.

Pitts contends that the real issue is money, but if you bother to read the GAO report, you will see that nothing it recommends would actually require a bigger FDA budget. However, another stakeholder -- guess who! -- would likely have to spend more dough if the recommendations were enacted.
